I just finished a project that I started in June. It’s not in my nature to drag a job for so long but I found people tend to stop or slow down activities here for when Ramadhan and Syawal here in Malaysia. Am not complaining but it’s kinda a culture shock to me even after 11 years of staying here as this is not the case where I come from. I mean we fast and celebrate Raya too but life or business does not stop just because of that.
Anyway, the job is done and now have to wait for the fruits of my labor. It won’t make me rich but it does mean I have a little bit of pocket money to spend. lol! Perhaps even look at some home speakers that can double up as my pc speaker 🙂
Shopping time people!

I’m not sure what’s going on with me but I am sleepy all the time now. I doubt it’s coz of lack of sleep because I do sleep, 10hours at one go if I need to. I don’t think it’s lack of sugar too because I drink a lot of coffee. In fact I think I take too much sugar at times that I often force myself to just drink plain water. I’m thinking that perhaps my body is telling me that I need to and exercise that instead of taking hcg shots for weight loss, I should starting sweating it out at the gym downstairs instead.
Of course, I have every intention to do so. It’s just that I just need to find the RIGHT time. lol! hmm.. Do I sound like a broken record?

With the prices of everything going up these days, we are trying to cut down expenses every which way we can. From eating in, and buying only the necessary, most times there is still no savings at the the of the month.Imagine, even my mom who was here for about two weeks was complaining how expensive everything is. She was in awe how a full basket can easily reach RM100 here. So sometimes it feels like no matter how hard you try to save, at the end of the day, still you got nothing go show for it. Bumer right?
Well recently, I found this website by Ramit Sethi and the title of the site is really catchy. It’s called “I will teach you how to be rich”.
Remit Sethi is somewhat of a finance guru and his website is really interesting and an eye-opener. He teaches us How to finance our lives effectively giving tips on how to save money and how and when we can benefit from a credit card purchase, for example.
Imagine saving a thousand bucks each month just by packing your own lunch and spending only on what you use and cutting down on things you don’t like gym membership for instance? Well that is what you can do by following his tips at this blog. I don’t know about you but I’m willing to give it go 🙂

When I went through my surgery in June, I was lucky enough to not have to come out one cent in cash. The bill which came up to about SGD1,400 after government subsidy, was paid for using what is called my Medisave account.
Medisave account, in Singapore, is something like forced savings. Every month a certain percentage is taken out from our salary and placed in a Central Provident Fund (CPF). Then that money is divided into three portion in CPF: the Ordinary Account (we can use this for purchasing our homes), Medisave account (pays for our medical bills) and Special account (our retirement fund). My medical bills was paid for using my Medisave account. I can also use this account to pay for my mom’s hospitalization bill for instance. Awesome right?
I understand in the US, Medicare Supplement Insurance, can help with medical bills too. As I understand it Medicare Supplemental Insurance is a policy provided by private insurance companies that fill the gaps in coverage that your basic Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B do not cover. There are various plans in the US so choose the best one for yourself. The CMS.gov also has great information on Medicare and Medicaid Services so be sure to check those too before deciding on your healthcare needs.

As most of you know, my cat, Jam Jam didn’t make it through. After getting home, she refused to eat unless force fed and each time she “smell” her meds and see the water syringe, she would salivate madly. There was also also an instance when I forced the meds and within seconds she was vomiting everything out. By the time we brought her back to the clinic, she was already too weak to fight it. So, YES, my Baby Jam has gone to the rainbow bridge.
On that note, life has to go on. That roadside assistance plan got to be looked into. Yes, the car is dead AGAIN. In fact it happened on the day we sent Jam Jam to UPM for her surgery. Fortunately we were already close to the house when it happened but Azwaj managed to maneuver it safely to a petrol kiosk to top up the brake liquid.
Yeap.. time to move on..

I got so many pregnant friends right now that I think I may have missed the fertility sprinkle a few months back.. lol! Anyway…the arrival of your precious bundle of joy must be one of the most important days of your life, so why not use Paper Culture baby announcements to announce the news to the whole world, or least to your family and friends. I know I would love to receive one of this cards to share your joy.

Jam Jam has returned home. Yeay! However there is still a long way to recovery and she is not making it very easy to care for her. Although home, she is still not eating and refusing all medicine. The moment she smell her meds, she start to salivate and by that time it is impossible to feed her anything. So most times, I just sit next to her cage on my yoga mat and try to pacify her and make her comfortable. She also like to walk on her three legs out her cage and park herself on my lap wagging her tail. I think I may very well set up my laptop and work from that corner.

One of my friend is retiring soon in Singapore and he is having a retirement party next week. My plan was to accompany mommy home and at the same time attend the party but with Jam Jam in the hospital and going through surgery next week, I decided that it is best to send my regrets and send him a retirement gift instead from here. Since he is a bit of a strawberries and chocolate lover, I thought I send him a nice box of richly coated strawberries this time and then probably treat him to a nice dinner when I’m back in Singapore.
