My First Motorbike Accident

It was a nice Thursday morning. Nice weather, no sign of rain and everything was going as planned. Azwaj and I had a light breakfast and around 8.15am, we left our house to run some errands. Traffic was good, the sun wasn’t out yet so it was a nice cool ride. Perfect, everything was perfect until, we turned the corner at Bulatan Kampung Pandan.. then WHAM!

Some oil slick was on the road at the corner and before we knew it we were on the ground, “gliding” with the motorbike on the hard road for several seconds. When the motorbike finally stopped, the first thing I said was “What happened?!” I was in shock and I can’t even remember if I screamed when we fell (A said I didn’t). The next thing I knew A was on his feet, there were a two other riders that stopped and helped pick up the bike. I couldn’t get up. There was pain on my knee but as my jeans were not ripped, I didn’t know what the wound actually looked like. All I knew was my knee hurt and I could not move my leg although it wasn’t squashed by the motorbike. It was only after A helped remove my leg then only I was able to move and limped slowly to the side of the road.

It seems when we were going down and “gliding”, Azwaj had, with his utmost strength, held on to the bike so that the bike would not fall on our legs when it eventually stopped. In the process.. well.. lets let the pictures do the talking..

My injury was still unknown at this point because it was covered by my jeans but we could see bleeding so we know there was a wound there only we don’t know to what extent.

Once we were home…

Well, the day didn’t go as planned but we are still thankful. Thankful that there was no vehicle behind us when we fell. Thankful that the other rider didn’t fall alongside us causing more injury. Thankful that although we were badly bruised and wounded, we didn’t break or sprained anything. Thankful we are experiencing all this pain which means all our body is functional and last but definitely not least.. thankful we are still alive.

We are hurting and the painkiller is our new best friend for now but the healing process is progressing nicely.

Azwaj and His Fellow Guitarist Friends

Azwaj is having some friends over and when those friends happened to be fellow musicians, you can be assured the amplifiers and guitars comes out to the living room. One of his friends even brought along his latest guitar effects to test with Azwaj’s multiple guitars! Now all they need to do is to record what they’re playing and with software like protools, we may have some awesome songs people..

The Guitarist Husband

You know you have a guitarist for a husband when you see him walking around the house with his ibanez guitar strapped around his shoulders. Azwaj is currently in one of his creative moods and I see him with his headphones and guitar plugin into the amplifier whenever he is not working. I don’t know if he is practicing for something or writing a song for me since it’s my birthday soon.. lol!

My Guitarist Darling

Before knowing Azwaj, I have no knowledge of the musical instrument named Guitars. To me it just completes the ensemble of the keyboard and the drums to form a band.. lol. ..Now I have a much better appreciation of the instrument. I now know a little bit more of this instrument that my Azwaj plays and even knows that Rosewood and Ebony fretboard gives a warm, rounder sound while Maple has a bright and clear sound.

Azwaj has a few guitars that has the different fretboard and while he does not have any TASCAM Guitars, he has Fender, Ibanez, Hamer and Cort in his collection.

My Super Awesome Present

February is going fast and March is approaching and though it will be my birthday and anniversary month, I am not expecting any anniversary or birthday gifts this year from Azwaj as I already got my awesome gift last December. It is of course my super wonderful Samsung Galaxy Note. Because of this wonderful gadget,  I no longer need a calendar this year as I am making full use of its notes features to keep keep track of all my jobs and tasks. As my eyesight is also failing in my “old” age, I am so loving the huge screen which makes everything so easy to see.. lol!

New Amplifer for Azwaj

Azwaj is planning to service his Marshall amplifier and he is thinking of trying out the eminence speakers  for a change. Alternatively he is thinking of just buying a new one from another company. However, the model that he is planning on getting is not being distributed here in Malaysia and the closest to getting it will from Singapore. So, since I am planning a trip down this Thursday, I thought I will just check out it out for him and see if it’s available.

On another note, my trip down this time will fun for sure as it is also to attend a cousin’s wedding. I am also planning another get-together with my CNC girls and of course some retail therapy.. lol!

Fruitful Saturday

Today, after a few days of rain, was hot and sunny, much like what sri lanka holidays would possible be like, I imagine. I’ve never been to Sri Lanka myself but what I heard, it can get really hot and since I prefer to visit a place with cooler weather, I doubt I will ever find out how hot it gets there.

Anyway, we plan to wake up early today to get some important errands done. One of them was to terminate our P1 services. Ever since we got our super fast Unifi connection, we hardly used our PI internet connection but since we were bounded by a two year contract, we had no choice but to continue paying the monthly bill.  The contract ended sometime in October but since we were busy, we didn’t have a chance to terminate it and continue paying the RM199 bill. Since it is a hefty amount, I put it in our errands list to get it terminate by latest December and thankfully we made time today and now we would be RM199 richer monthly (one can only hope.. lol).

Next we went to PJ to collect a guitar part for Azwaj. We got lost somewhat due to a wrong turn but managed to find the right turn using Google Map. Yeay for technology!

Next it was to the motorbike service center. Azwaj got new tyres, batteries, brake pad and something else that I don’t know. It was a two hour wait so I ended up playing games on my phone. Oh he also got himself a brand new RED (my choice) helmet and I got a new visor for my own.

All in all it was a fruitful day today. Sure it was tiring but when you get so many things done in a day, you can’t help but have a satisfied smile when you arrive home.

11 Year of Bliss

11 years ago, this time me and my soulmate were married. That seems such a huge number but it seems like only yesterday I remember meeting him for the very first time. In fact when Emila was driving up the JW Marriott hotel driveway, for the perfume launch the other day, I was again momentarily transported to that day that I saw Azwaj in his car waiting for me. Ahh.. memories..

Our marriage went through the usual ups and downs as all other marriages do but through it all.. love held strong and here we are all.. celebrating our 11th year as man and wife.. I will love you forever and may Allah bless this union till death do us part..Ameen

Locked In

I was checking my facebook account tonight and found an update status from Peejoy saying that a friend of his was locked in the bathroom at the Regency Hotel Alor Setar. His first status was seven hours ago followed by another status update  four hours later showing this picture.

Locked In!

OMG I would totally freak if I had to stay that long in the bathroom… which… reminds me of an incident that I had in 2004.  It was dawn and A and I had woken up to perform our prayers.  A used the bathroom and I followed suit after he finished. After I finished cleaning and still very groggy, I turned the knob and was irritated when the door refused to open. I thought it was A pulling a prank on me and told him it was a tad too early for jokes. But there was silence on the other side. So i raised my voice this time as it was getting colder in there.  Then I heard A’s voice asking me what was wrong. I told him stop holding the knob and let me out and he told me he wasn’t doing anything. I then realized that the door had jammed and I was locked in.

To make a long story short, A managed to open the door using his handyman tools after trying for about an hour. I just thank God that it happened while A was still around and not when he was at work.  To stop such an event happening again, A removed the knob! lol!

The Wonders Of Sleep

I was supposed to work on post about apidexin but instead after Azwaj massaged me, I fell asleep and he didn’t wake me up! Anyway it’s good too because I desperately needed the sleep and now that I had my 6hours of sleep, I’m feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world or rather the web..lol..

I also see breakfast on the table this morning as Azwaj went to accompany his father to go mama’s grave. He didn’t even wake me up for that and when I asked him, he said he did but I just nodded my head and went back to bed..lol.. I must really have been a sleeping beauty.. lol!

It Sucks!

My Azwaj was thinking of getting another telephone line for my in-laws house so that we could get another internet connection line in. So after getting our modem and Linksys router and things, we went to TM to apply for a line.

After waiting for a good hour, our number was called. However upon checking, we found out that for the area my in-law’s house is at, there is no more port open for new telephone lines which means we can’t get an internet connection as well! .. And there is no indication that they are going to add any more port any time soon..Sucks right?

Random Rambling

Azwaj really got me breaking sweat yesterday when he called to let me know Mama might be staying at our place for a while. As I mentioned in my other blog, I went on super LJ mode, mopping the floor, cleaning the Toilets and even spring cleaning the guest room so that Mama and Abah would be comfortable, only to be told that they are not coming after all 🙁

Oh well, nothing like a little stressed situation to get the laziness out of the system eh? lol! … Anyway, I can’t believe that today is already Friday. Where did my week go? I still remember last Saturday when I picked my songs for Music Monday and now it’s time to pick another three song AGAIN.. lol!

I still got tons to do before going back to Singapore next Friday to attend my niece’s wedding. There’s custom banners to do and layout to finish. Am also hoping Awan would be ok enough to visit the vet to get spayed on Monday and wishing that the incision would not be too big so that there will be no need to revisit the vet to open any stitches (or so Doc Sharon told me).

So much thing.. so little time to do it.. Life is good 😉

Poor Darling Is Sick

My poor darling hubby is sick. He woke up this morning asking for the instant relief panadol as he was feeling all feverish this morning. He told he that he had feeling not a 100% since Monday but was in denial as he had tons to do. This morning however, he surrendered. After eating the porridge I made him, he popped two panadols and went back to bed.

Azwaj has never been a great fan of doctors and whenever possible he would self-medicate and try to get plenty of rest when he is down with something. I, on the other hand am a baby when I get sick. LOL! One day with fever, and if it does not improve, I’m off to see my family doctor.. lol! Speaking of being ill, I really ought to start looking for cheap health insurance. Medical bills are so expensive these days that we should really find ways to save in whatever way we can. I heard that there is even a medical insurance that covers you when you’re sick and reward you when you are healthy. Now that is awesome right?

Argh!!!!!

It seemed that after I got my laptop, Miss Fly, back from the service center on Wednesday, the problem of the system which keeps doing a scan disk on reboot still persisted. Azwaj tried to reinstall the OS (coz the service people mentioned that it might be the OS being corrupt) but the system keep shutting down during installation. So A suspects it might be the memory card as when he removed one of the them, the system was slightly more stable. So off we went to Low Yatt today to get the new card.

However, after putting in the new memory card, Miss Fly still keeps shutting down and this is during installation and now Azwaj suspects that it might be one of the memory slot which if true, is really frustrating as the service center people told me they replaced the motherboard already! He is suspecting that they put in a recon one and not a brand new one as Miss Fly, my laptop, is already coming to her third year and probably the company don’t make any more new parts for the particular model.

So now, A is doing the installation based on 2gb memory and hopes that the installation would go smoothly but then if my laptop is only running on 2gb of memory.. she would be Miss Fly no more :(… hmm.. perhaps I can put in some Ferrari parts in her. Do you think that would still make her fly?? lol!

There Goes the Dough : Motorbike's Wheels Replacement Update

We didn’t get to replacing the wheels for A’s motorbike yesterday since the lorry driver can only do the delivery at 3pm and with the traffic jam and so close to breaking fast, we decided to do it today instead. We were at the motorbike shop around 11.30am and were told to pick up the motorbike at around 3pm. Cost:

Normal Rims, tyres, brake disc …and everything else to make the motorbike run again: RM592

Total lorry cost (thank GOD they are reliable like moving companies San Francisco): RM250

Total cost: RM842

While at the shop, we were also told that the sports rim (picture as above) that was stolen was no longer in production and in the black market, it’s price would reach RM1000!!!! Azwaj is so pissed!! Those were nice rims!!

A's Motorbike Wheels Stolen!

We left the apartment as usual around 6.45pm to go get our daily “buka” (breakfast) and upon approaching the motorbike parking bay, which was near the lift lobby, Azwaj went “Sh*t someone stole my back wheel!” and we only realised they actually stole both front and rear motorbike wheels once we actually reached the parking bay!!

Upon further inspection, he then realized that the ignition was also tampered with, so we reckon that they actually tried to steal the whole bike, then probably because A secured it properly, didn’t manage to and stole the wheels instead.

A passerby stopped by and told us that the bike was already like that when he left for school at 8am so we figured the job must have been done at night. The security guard also confirmed that he was doing his rounds at 8am and noticed the parking lights smashed and the wheels missing already and though he recognized the motorbike as A’s, he didn’t know our unit number to inform us.

Anyway, A decided the best course of action was to move the motorbike to his parents house before anyone else thinks that the bike was there as spare parts or before the thief decides to come back and finish the job. So we called a lorry (costing RM150) to move Mr Yamaha to my in-law’s place and there it would sit till tomorrow when another lorry would bring it to a nearby motorbike shop to get the tires, rims and brake disc replaced!

What a Monday!!!

I Married A Handyman **

I love our new home but one of my grievance when we moved here was the water pressure at the kitchen sink. It is so terrible that washing dishes feels like forever and when I have to wash oily dishes and pan, let me tell you.. it is no fun at all!

When we first moved in, Azwaj had repaired it to a degree. It was much better than before so I had my semi smile back on. However, today, after losing water supply a few hours and after the water came back on, the water pressure went back to the first day we were here. I complained and Azwaj took action after he saw for himself how terrible it indeed was.

Half an hour and some wet and messy kitchen later, I’m happy to report that the water pressure is now making me smile. A FULL smile this time!

I love my handyman!!
