Death is an eventual thing in life. It’s not an “IF” but a “WHEN” and a “HOW”. Whether you passed on peacefully from old age or from cancer or a Mesothelioma diagnosis, it’s all part of life… but yet it hurts. It hurts so bad that sometimes you feel you want to die too.
I mentioned in my twitter message a few weeks back that there was yet another death in the family. Azwaj’s uncle who is living in the States had passed away.
Ami, as we affectionately calls him, was late Mama’s younger brother. He just passed away suddenly last month. We don’t know the details of his death; in fact no one really knew that he was sick. Azwaj’s aunt, Aunt Lynn, was too distraught to give details on the phone when she called to inform the family.
Then yesterday, we got another news. It seems Aunty Lynn’s father passed away! When I heard the news, I couldn’t help but break down. I mean I don’t know the deceased but I know Aunty Lynn and to have both men in your life just leave suddenly like that. I cannot imagine the grief she is going through right now and when I put myself in her shoes.. oh dear God, I just broke down.
We know that they are in a better place. The good ones always die young they say, and so we take consolation in that. We move on and pray that we, the living, can continue living without them. Remembrance keeps them near….
Al-fatihah..
