continued from here

After making sure my camera (by that I mean my Galaxy Note phone..lol) was fully charged, both me and Emila proceeded to meet up with the rest of the group from the Media Familiarization Trip to Sarawak downstairs at the lobby. Rose, our guide from Cat Tours, told us the river was nearby the hotel and so we will be walking to our destination. The weather was excellent for walking and it gave us an opportunity to look around and take pictures of the riverside area.

So here’s our ferry. Nice right?

rivercruise

The Sarawak River Cruise is an excellent way to discover Sarawak. With more than 25 historical landmarks to see, the cruise offers a 360º panoramic view of Kuching City. As of 1st April 2013, tickets prices for the Signature Sunset Cruise will be RM69.90 for adults and RM39.90 for children. Tickets will also now include the 1½ hour cruise with live commentary, cultural performance, free flow orange drink, kuih lapis and a set of their very own Sarawakian Black Pepper Chicken Rice.

Here are some of the pictures I snapped while onboard. There’s not much as I was too busy enjoying the real view.. Ah how I wished Azwaj was around with me.. the view, the breeze, the sunset, the dining onboard after the cruise really puts me in a romantic mood.. lol!

continued from here….

After lunch, we were transported via Cat City coach that was arranged by the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) to the Riverside Majestic Hotel which is strategically located in the heart of Kuching’s business, entertainment, dining and shopping district just 20 minutes drive from the Kuching International Airport. Our home for the next two nights 🙂

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly offered warm towel to freshen up and a welcome drink awaits us. After everyone settled down, the Riverside Majestic Hotel dancers appeared and we were greeted with a welcome dance. How nice right?

Riverside Majestic Hotel is a very nice and quite a grand hotel. It houses 241 spacious and contemporary rooms, including suites. Each room has features like free wifi which is important for a blogger like me, individually controlled air-conditioning, IDD phone, minibar, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and 32-inch LCD TV with satellite news and entertainment channels.

I understand later that there were a few kinds of pillow available, even aromatherapy ones! I wished I had known earlier, I would have requested for one. Imagine sleeping on a bed of lavender…heaven!

Anyways… moving on to the restaurants in Riverside Majestic Hotel, whatever your fancy, the hotel has it all. Enjoy a wide variety of international and local cuisine at the hotel’s main restaurant, Cafe Majestic with their very varied buffets and ala carte menu to choose from (I’ll cover more of this at my food blog, I promise 🙂

The Coca Restaurant and the River Palace Restaurant which is located on the hotel’s 3rd floor are popular for the famous Coca Thai Steamboat and appetizing Chinese cuisine.

Looking to plan an offsite meeting for your office? Well, look no further as Riverside Majestic has a few venue you can choose from. Check out their packages here.

Ok.. that’s it for the hotel review. We have a full itinerary in front of us. Next up.. Sarawak River Cruise…
